Handsome, enigmatic biker (Alexander Skarsgård) takes on a timid man as his submissive, sweeping him away from his dreary suburban existence. This is not your typical queer love story. It's messy, erotic and sometimes uncomfortable. But it’s also sexy, tender and surprisingly funny. A dom com you’ll gladly submit to.
Colin is a quiet, unassuming man, a wallflower letting life pass him by. Close to his loving parents and still living at home along with his miniature dachshund, Hippo, Colin’s main source of creative expression is performing in a Barber shop a capella quartet alongside his proud dad. At one such pub performance, his world is rocked when he meets Ray, the towering, enigmatic and attractive member of a motorbike club – Colin’s physical and personality opposite. Ray takes him on as his submissive, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers. Navigating his new role, Colin learns about its pleasures and pains, including those that come with love, and in the process begins to understand his own boundaries.
Sensitively directed, with captivating performances, Pillion is exciting, provocative and dynamic, but with a warmth and vulnerability at its heart. A modern-day love story about working out who we are and what kinds of connections truly make us tick.
